Face to face with the Timberman

The Timberman beetle (Acanthocinus aedilis) certainly has impressive antennae. My macro lens didn't allow me to get close enough for a detailed image at the same time as getting the full antennae length in-frame! The larvae of this long-horn beetle live on pine logs. Today I saw about ten adult beetles waiting and mating on one single log.
